Hi all,

My son Bobby is looking for a job. He is 17 and struggling with finding a job for under 18.  My son James, his job at Walmart ends next friday. He may be looking for work as well. And I need a job that will allow me to be home more. Currently I am trying to do the single dad thing and driving truck regionally. This only gets me home a couple of times a week. I need something that gets me home daily.  Thanks.

hi duke,

you have been on my heart (and in my prayers) lately. is there an update? i also asked my husband about the company he drives for, but he doesn't know if they're hiring right now. he works for exposition transportation, so it might be worth looking into. they're located in a warehouse on las vegas blvd, between lamb and nellis, on the north side of the street, and there's a tattoo parlour located at the east end of the warehouse building, and i think maybe a car repair shop or something also. anyway, it's 100% local driving, mostly hauling convention freight, sometimes being subbed out to yellow freight for deliveries. but it's home every night, (or at least every day if they work through the night during a major show), and they pay very well. plus, they're very considerate of family obligations.

if you go by there, let them know that even though you haven't met him personally, you go to the same church as mark smith. it's not much of a recommendation since you don't know mark, but at the same time, mark seems to be their favorite employee. (shhhh, don't tell anyone i said that!) so it MIGHT be helpful!

kristin is probably the one you should talk to, if you can catch her in the office. she's very pregnant though, so she's not always in. but she is the owner's daughter and seems to make most of the final decisions. dave is the owner's son, but i don't think he's in charge of hiring... and michelle is the office manager/dispatcher.

even if they aren't hiring right now, keep in touch with them.... the convention industry ebbs and flows, but when it gets busy, they have more work than they have drivers for, and once you're in the door, they're not likely to let you go.

Duke,

Might your son Bobby like a shelver or page job in a llibrary?  I think ALiante ( which is kind of far on 215 and Aliante Parkway in North Las Vegas) is hiring.  Also the main Las Vegas library at 833 L V Blvd No might have page postitons open.  I will keep you in prayer.  It was good to see you on Sunday night.

Hello Duke. I know it has been a while since the posting back in June or July, but I am wondering how the job situation is for You, James, and Bobby. Did you get a local trucking job ?

GOD bless you and your Sons, and provide all your needs.

Please let me know, Larry.
